TI A Collaborative Translation Model Based on the Micro Translation Management System: Construction and Operation

AB This study explores the development of a novel collaborative translation model based on the micro Translation Management System (TMS) to meet the increasing need of translation services and practical teaching in the context of the continuous evolution of translation collaboration models and development of their platforms. By reviewing the development history of translation collaboration and comparing various computer-assisted translation collaboration models and platforms emerged in recent years, this study found that there is hardly a computer-assisted translation collaboration model that can apply to small companies and translation teaching. Moreover, from the architectural point of view, the market and education urgently need the collaborative translation system with flexible operation and low cost. Based on the prototype concept of the Collaborative Translation Platform (CTP), this study constructed a novel collaborative translation model that effectively integrates the translation management system with the translation process management in the dimensions of workflow and division of labor. The test run of the TMS shows its advantages in architect, operation and cost, and also its adaptability to the future needs of practical teaching and translation services.
